Position Title: MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Location: London, Ontario, Canada
Salary: 78-80K+ (Canadian)
Reporting to: PLANT MANAGER
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for the overall direction of the Maintenance Department including ensuring the mechanical reliability of the production line to ensure maximum productivity. Oversees the planning and preparation of work orders for work to be performed by the respective Maintenance employee to ensure the plant is maintained for continuous operations in a safe manner.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Works with the Plant Manager to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness for the facility. Identifies key constrained equipment in the plant, develop / implements OEE strategies to optimize equipment performance related to prioritized opportunities.
Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on priority, availability of equipment and skill and ability of mechanic. Contracts services as required to obtain necessary talent to improve overall plant performance.
Oversees the condition and maintenance of the shop to ensure adequate safe working conditions.
Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
Conducts or arranges for worker training regarding safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
Inspects, tests, and measures completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
Confer with personnel, such as Project Manager/ Coordinator and Quality Assurance to coordinate work activities and identify and review resource needs.
Effectively oversee maintenance personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently and resolves employee issues providing strong leadership and communication skills..
Conduct regular plant tours to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification.
Maximizing equipment reliability through using an effective planned maintenance schedule.
Monitors the tool and part inventories of basic supplies and submits a requisition for these materials and supplies.
Assume and/or perform Maintenance Team Lead duties as required; including vacation/outage coverage
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Millwright or Electrician Certificate
At least 6 years experience in a senior maintenance role
Efficiently works with Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint computer programs. Experience with Accounting or CMMS system preferred.
Good Communication and presentation skills
Ability to work individually and as a vital member of a team
